Abstract In recent years, renewable generation, especially wind, and solar have become one of the major generation resources in electrical power systems. Due to non-dispatchable feature curtailment occurs when rest system is not able accommodate maximum output. To analyze planning stage, however, traditional studies such as production simulation method are limited identifying accurate rates since time resolution sparse grid topology omitted. Therefore, this paper, we propose a time-sequential optimal flow (TSOPF) for studying utilization.
